Through the first 45 minutes, the game had it all! Except shots that found the back of the net.

Sporting KC were eager to get back to the goalscoring and winning ways with an impressive first half. They had 10 total shots. Keeping Red Bulls Brazilian goalkeeper Carlos Miguel on his toes the first half. Miguel showed up when it mattered making three crucial saves to keep the score sheet at zero. Those shots came from Khiry Shelton and two from Johnny Russell. Johnny had two clear chances to go up on the scoreboard but Miguels impressive first half performance saved the Red bulls through the first 45 minutes.

Second-half got underway and both teams came on the field to earn 3 points. Red bulls got 3 shots to start the half with and impressive save from Tim Melia on the third shot. Russell made sure to respond but Miguel showed his athleticism with a cheeky save.

Aaron Long in the 53rd minute found the back of the net via a header from the center of the box.

VAR made an appearance in the 70th minute of the game to check a “possible red card: denial of a goal scoring opportunity”. Sean Nealis was found guilty and shown a red card. Red bulls went down to 10 men on the field.

With one man down the Red Bulls were able to keep maintain the score and earn 3 crucial points that take them to the top of the table of the Eastern Conference through 19 games.
